Amlwch Project

Well after much thought and a few facebook post on the subject recently, I have finally decided to reveal a work in progress. I started it in November, its only about 12 years after my initial thoughts on the idea, but its finally underway. Its basically a realtime environment based on Amlwch as it used to be in the past, using photos freely available as reference. From the outset I knew it would be a large and complex undertaking, and know doubt contain many errors as far as layout and detail is concerned. I am trying to contain the model...

Horse Mould

Well I abondened the first attempt of the horse mould as it was going to prove very difficult to keep the parts together, so I went for a block silicon mold in 2 parts. I buried one half of the horse in oil based clay, this included half of each leg, sculpting the oil based clay carefully so the the horse could be released in one piece when cast. Modern to Traditional

Hello all, Its been a while and I apologise, but I have been rather busy. Its now time to combine my past with what I have been concentrating on for the last ten years or so, to combine digital technologies with traditional techniques. So far I have had a couple of digital models printed...

Myth of the ‘Make a dinosaur button’.

Myth of the ‘Make a dinosaur button’. Does anyone remember the ground breaking series called walking with dinosaurs aired on British TV in 1999. This is where the title comes from, as is about the time I started seriously in 3d. When talking to friends and family about the series the amount of people that made the comment ‘yeh, very clever, but its done with computers’ really surprised me. Computers are a great tool, but they still need an operator, and the content created on them is only as good as the operator. It takes a lot of time...
